- ABOUT US
- NEWSLETTER
At the end of their first year in Palaiseau, IOGS students can choose to come and study in Saint-Étienne in order to follow an original course of study, focused on the fields of applied optics:
- Design of complex optical systems (particularly for astronomy)
- Measurement and control of appearance (particularly for art restoration, cosmetics or health)
- Optics for solar energy
Engineering students choosing to pursue a research curriculum on the Saint-Etienne campus enter Jean Monnet University. They join the Advanced Imaging and Material Appearance (AIMA) master programme, thus carrying out double diploma studies.
As active members of the Manutech-SLEIGHT Graduate School, they benefit from its training through research approach – they participate in the SLEIGHT Science Events, prepare for the Manutech-SLEIGHT Certificate - and opportunities such as mobility grants to do an internship abroad.
The teacher-researchers of IOGS carry out their research activities within the Hubert Curien Laboratory, a joint research unit between Jean Monnet University in Saint-Etienne and the CNRS specialised in research in optics and photonics, among other fields.
