6 Manutech-SLEIGHT-funded projects are now completed

Vincent Duveiller, Samaneh Choupani, Eduardo Brandao, Steve Papa, Rehan Jhuboo and Ilemona Sunday Omeje have defended their thesis and completed their project.
Vincent Duveiller (Hubert Curien lab), was working on the DENT'IN project, co-funded by the Graduate School under the 1st Call for thesis certification. He was supervised by Mathieu Hébert (LabHC) and focused his research on the prediction of the reflectance and transmittance of translucent dental resins.

Samaneh Choupani, former PhD student at the CREATIS lab, was working on developing and experimentally validating a non-invasive ultrasound technique to assess the severity of vascular narrowing (stenosis). The Mano'Us project, led by François Varray (CREATIS), was co-funded by Manutech-SLEIGHT under the 1st Call for thesis certification.

Eduardo Brandao (Hubert Curien lab) worked on a project at the interface of Machine Learning and Physics: the PGML project, born of the need of a machine learning approach to the MORPHOSURF research in physics. The PGML project, also co-funded by the Graduate School, has led to the funding of another machine learning oriented project on which Eduardo is currently working: the PIMALEA project.

Steve Papa, who was working on the LASIMP research project at the SAINBIOSE lab with Alain Guignandon (SAINBIOSE) and Virginie Dumas (LTDS), defended his thesis just before the end of year holidays. The aim of the project was to texture titanium-based dental implant by femtosecond laser in order to modify the anti-bacterial properties of the material. The project was funded by Manutech-SLEIGHT under the 3rd Call for projects.

Rehan Jhuboo (Hubert Curien lab), defended his thesis during the 11th SLEIGHT Science Event. The MALBOT research project on which he worked was dealing with bone imaging and a machine learning approach to improve the quality of CT scans. The improvement of the resolution could help better understand the aging process in astronauts' bones.
