Monday, June 30th and Tuesday, July 1st are organized in partnership with the GdR Appamat.

Due to their mechanical and thermal properties, as well as their shine, metals and their alloys have always held a special place in manufacturing and artistic production, with a creative potential that has been greatly enhanced thanks to the innovations recently brought about by new photonic technologies. The multidisciplinary workshop “Metallic Surfaces – texturing, functionalization, appearance” offers an opportunity to discover these new processes and the innovative appearances that they offer, but also to report on current research into the optical characterization of these surfaces, their study in industry or in the field of cultural heritage, and the methods for exploring their specific visual properties that we seek to understand, reproduce or imitate. The Manutech-SLEIGHT Graduate School and the GDR Appamat organize jointly a workshop on research on metallic surfaces, the techniques of yesterday and today that give them new functionalities and ever surprising appearances, which we will seek to discover and understand.
