- ABOUT US
Yoan Di Maio graduated as an engineer from Télécom Saint-Étienne in 2009 (optics and electronics), with a one year specialization at Polytechnique Montréal (optics, lasers, and materials).
He earned a PhD in physics in 2013 from Jean Monnet University through a CIFRE collaboration with Safran, working on femtosecond laser processing optimisation.
He then spent eight years at the Saint-Étienne startup Qiova developing innovative laser beam-shaping technologies, before joining Manutech-USD in July 2021 to support the GIE’s scientific development.

MAIN REPONSABILITIES
He supports the transfer of femtosecond laser technologies from research to industrial applications by defining and implementing upscaling strategies that facilitate industrial adoption.
He leads and coordinates scientific developments both internally and through local, national, and European collaborative projects.
He provides expertise for customer feasibility studies and consulting in laser processing.
He contribute to the group’s scientific strategy, resource management, and technology monitoring.
