Florence Garrelie, director of the Hubert Curien lab and head of the Manutech-SLEIGHT Graduate School, introduced the SSE9 and the Graduate School's activities

The 9th SLEIGHT Science Event has begun!

Florence Garrelie, head of the Graduate School and director of the Hubert Curien lab, introduced what we do here at Manutech-SLEIGHT and kicked-off the scientific week. She talked about funded research programs, opportunities for master students, and presented the program of the week.


200 students and researchers are gathered over the week to discover the 4 guest lecturers

Four guest lecturers, from France and abroad, will give lectures for students and researchers:
  • Aurélien CRUT, from the Institut Lumière Matière lab (UCBL, CNRS) - Course on metal nanoparticules;
  • Florence TUPIN, from the LTCI lab of Telecom ParisTech - Course on Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imaging;
  • Olivier MARTIN, from the Nanophotonics & Metrology Laboratory (EPFL) - Course on Plasmonic nanostructures;
  • Alessandro RIZZI, from the Department of Computer Science at the University of Milano - Course on vision ans the colour spectrum.


Special sessions dedicated to graduate students and members of the consortium


Master students will participate in the Pitch Session, where they will present a research project (internship or guided project during a special teaching unit). 21 members of the consortium willo present a poster during the poster session, explaining their research project or an outstanding piece of equipment.
At the end of the week, the 3 scientific axes of the Graduate School will present each funded projects and invite special guests to foster interactions between researchers and PhD students.
