A LOOK AT KHURAM'S BACKGROUND
Khuram obtained his master’s degree in image processing from INSA Lyon engineering school in 2014 and his doctoral degree in the same domain from Université de Lorraine in 2017. In both these programs, the application focus of his studies and research has been on medical data. He continued with the same application domain in a post-doctoral fellowship at CREATIS, Lyon, before joining the DIONISOS project at the Hubert Curien Laboratory.
KHURAM'S MOTIVATION FOR SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH
Before this project, my principal research experience in image processing involved medical scenarios, like in dermoscopic or ultrasonic imaging. This project, which involves electron microscopy imaging with applications in material sciences, gave me the opportunity to diversify my experience while also enabling me to work on my competence in machine learning. Having already had satisfactory work experience at CREATIS, which has had frequent collaborations with the Hubert Curien Lab, I was confident of re-experiencing it. I would like to continue research in the image processing domain after finishing this project.
