Geoffrey Ciachera
A LOOK AT GEOFFREY'S BACKGROUND
"After finishing the Erasmus Mundus master RADMEP, I have applied for a PhD. My PhD topic is about radiation effects on optical electronic components and systems. Until now, I have done a research paper on LEDs irradiated with proton, neutron, and gammas. The next part will be to focus on the colorimetric parameters on these same LEDs after irradiation. The PhD continues now with another component for laser beaming application. These components are Laser Power Converters (LPC) and they seem to have promising radiation response after X-ray irradiation"
GEOFFREY'S MOTIVATION FOR SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH
Presenting results is an essential part of the research job. I would therefore be very glad to present the results of my PhD to any audience. I believe that explaining to both expert and non-expert audiences is key to conveying the essence of learning, understanding and curiosity, and to science in its etymological sense. Finally, my work is in radiation physics, which, from what I can see and feel in today's world, is very obscure to most people. If I can shed even a little light on these obscure areas, I would be grateful
