François Jacquenet obtained his PhD degree from the University of Besançon in 1988 before joining the European Project ALF at the University of Nancy, France, as a young researcher, and the University of Dijon as an associate professor in 1989. He worked as a researcher for IBM's Almaden research Centre in the United States in 1999 and 2000. He got his tenure as a Professor in Computer Science at Jean Monnet University upon his return to France. He has been teaching and doing research at Hubert Curien Laboratory ever since.
