Sylvain Girard obtained his PhD in 2003. He joined the Centre d’Energie Atomique – CEA - as a Research Engineer in 2004. In 2012, he joined Jean Monnet University as a full Professor to teach in the Physics Department and do research at the Hubert Curien Laboratory.
His expertise concerns the development of optical materials, photonic and optoelectronic technologies for operation in radiation-rich environments. He has authored or co-authored over 220 articles in peer-reviewed journals and filed 6 patents.

MAIN REPONSABILITIES
- Leader of the LabH6, a Joint Research Laboratory between Jean Monnet University, CNRS, iXblue Photonics and of the MOPERE team of Hubert Curien Laboratory
- Coordinator of the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree – EMJMD RADMEP
