Frédéric Lortie obtained a MSc degree in Chemistry and Chemical Physics of Polymers (1998, University Paris-Est) and continued with a PhD in the field of supramolecular polymers (2001, University Paris-Est). He then worked as a research fellow in CEMS department (University of Minnesota, USA). He joined INSA Lyon in 2003 as Associate Professor and was promoted to a Full Professor position in 2024. His research interests are primarily focused on the design of multiphasic polymer-based materials and composites by combining self-assembly and processing strategies. Since January 2022, Frédéric Lortie has been leading the Materials Science teaching department of INSA Lyon.
